Casey Nelson, MS, OTR/L, CF-L1

Casey Nelson has been a dedicated member of the CrossFit Incite community since December 2016. As a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and lifelong athlete, Casey brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal passion to the gym floor.

Early in her coaching career, she co-founded an adaptive kids’ CrossFit program, combining her real-world career in pediatric occupational therapy with her love for fitness. The program was a great success—empowering young athletes with special needs to build strength, coordination, and confidence in ways traditional sports often cannot.

Casey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University, where she was certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Personal Trainer. During that time, she trained athletes from the Maricopa Community College system, including Fire Academy cadets and collegiate sports teams, focusing on both in-season strength training and off-season conditioning.

She later earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from A.T. Still University and now serves the pediatric population as a licensed occupational therapist in Arizona.

Before discovering CrossFit, Casey played competitive soccer from childhood through college on traveling club teams. She continues to channel her athletic drive through team sports like co-ed softball and women’s flag football, one of her newest passions.

You’ll find Casey working out with the early morning 5 a.m. crew when she’s not coaching. She has also competed in numerous local CrossFit competitions over the years, though these days, her biggest motivation is being a role model to her two children—teaching them the value of discipline, hard work, and a healthy lifestyle.

Whether she’s in the gym or cheering from the sidelines, Casey brings the same energy, heart, and leadership to every team she’s a part of.
