Coach Derrick has been married to the love of his life Rochelle for 9 years and has lived in Arizona since 2003. They have 3 beautiful children; Talen 6, Ava 5 and Lyla 2 ½. Coach Derrick started doing CrossFit in 2009 after breaking his foot while canyoneering. He has been doing extreme sports his whole life and it was the first broken bone he had suffered. At that point he decided to fight back against getting old! He quickly fell in love with the CrossFit methods.

Fitness and health have always been a passion for Coach Derrick. Growing up he played football, baseball, ran cross country and track and excelled in all. He was voted Athlete of the Year by his high school coaches.

He continues to participate in local endurance races including P.F. Changs ½ Marathon, Tough Mudder, London’s Run and other charity runs. He enjoys extreme sports like snow skiing, wakeboarding, scuba diving, mountain biking and canyoneering.

Let me just start off by saying…I love CrossFit!

I am a native Arizonan, I have lived here for over 30 years.

I grew up loving and playing all kinds of sports. I played volleyball in highschool and took weightraining, where I was first introduced to Olympic Lifting. After highschool I met and married my husband Stan (who CrossFits with me) and we have four cute kids.

I have enjoyed teaching group fitness classes in my community and church groups for the past 6 years. I heard about CrossFit in 2005 and without ever participating, KNEW I would love it. I finally got the opportunity to start CrossFitting in May 2012 and it was like I’d come home. I have always dreamed of being a trainer and coach and I am so excited to be able to help others improve their lives and get stronger, faster, and more fit all through CrossFit.
